Don't you just love it when you find a handbag that becomes a staple in your wardrobe as it goes with so many outfits? Well in the makeup world the MAC Boldly Bare lip liner is just that - it goes with literally every single nude lipstick I have ever bought.

I love using lip liners as they help add symmetry, define shape and give volume, which is great for the whole Kylie Jenner big lip thing that's so popular right now. MAC Boldly Bare was one of my first nude MAC lip liners I bought and I use it so much I'm now on my third one! For this post I've concentrated just on MAC lipsticks that Boldly Bare goes with, but it actually matches well with many other brands of nude lipsticks too. Below I've listed the MAC lipsticks that go with the Boldly Bare lip liner, and above I've swatched them for you with the lip liner so you can see how they blend.
- MAC "Boldly Bare" lip liner and MAC "Brave" lipstick
- MAC "Boldly Bare" lip liner and MAC "Modesty" lipstick
- MAC "Boldly Bare" lip liner and MAC "Shy Girl" lipstick
- MAC "Boldly Bare" lip liner and MAC "Pure Zen" lipstick
- MAC "Boldly Bare" lip liner and MAC "Blankety" lipstick
As MAC Shy Girl and MAC Pure Zen are on the paler spectrum of nudes it creates quite a nice ombre effect which I think makes the lips look even bigger.
I would always recommend putting the lipstick over the lip liner and blending them together with a lip brush to get a nice seamless look between the shades.
Apologies for the very used lipsticks in theses photos but I thought the swatches were the most important thing so you can see how the lipsticks and lip liner go together. This has also made me realise that I need to quickly order some more as they are clearly running low!

DeleteThis liner looks amazing with all of your lipstick swatches! I'm allergic to MAC lipsticks, but haven't looked into their lip liners. I don't have many lip liners, so after this post I'll be checking the MAC ones out asap! If I can use them, Boldly Bare will be top of my list of liners to get. Xx

DeleteI prefer to see used lipsticks rather than pristine ones! I can't believe how well this matches with them all, I could do with this to go with brave! I have blankety but rarely use it, will have to break it out x
